Um jovem poeta na Tessália: a Pítica X de Píndaro

Abstract

Propõe-se neste artigo uma análise, seguida de tradução, da Pítica X, que é supostamente o epinício mais antigo do corpus de Píndaro. Pretende-se mostrar, principalmente, que esta ode de vitória, embora possa ter sido elaborada na juventude do poeta, exibe já as características formais e temáticas que distinguem a arte de compor do maior lírico grego.

This paper proposes an analysis, along with a translation, of Pythian X, which has been considered the earliest epinikion of the Pindaric corpus. It aims to demonstrate that this victory ode, in spite of the supposed youthfulness of the author, already presents the main features and themes that distinguish the greatest Greek lyric poet’s art.
