Contributo para o estudo da relação entre Estoicismo e moral tradicional romana em Séneca: a Vniuersi generis humani societas e a Pietas erga parentes

Abstract

Com base na tentativa ciceroniana de conciliação da uniuersi generis humani societas com a pietas erga parentes e na comparação entre to osion grego e a pietas latina, procura este artigo perceber porque é em atenção ao pai que o Hércules senequiano decide prolongar a existência, quando o euripidiano o fizera em atenção a seu amigo Teseu.

Taking into account Cicero’s attempt to conciliate uniuersi generis humani societas and pietas erga parentes and the comparison between to osion and latin pietas, this paper aims to understand why is it through the courtesy of his father that the Senecan Hercules decides to extend his existence, instead of, like the Euripidean Herakles, through the courtesy of his friend Theseus.
