O lexema actium na literatura latina: o recurso literário; a identidade de um espaço geográfico

Abstract

Actium é uma memória monumental para o período republicano. Este lexema marca o final do sistema republicano e o início de uma nova ordem. Mas o que significou para o Romano do séc. I d. C.? Através de um largo número de referências na Literatura latina a este termo emblemático, esperamos, pelo menos, compreender o valor potencial e a variedade que reveste na Cultura Romana.

Actium is a monumental memory to the republican period. This lexeme marks the end of the republican system and the beginning of a new order, but what did it mean to a Roman of the Ist century AD? Through the large number of references in Latin literature to this emblematic word, we expect to, at least, understand the potential value and its variability in Roman culture.
