This work is a bilingual edition of a text which talks about the death of Prince Carlos, son of Felipe II and Maria of Portugal, and the causes which produced it. In the text some of the features of the Latin Renaissance historiography can be noted, like the literary component or its propagandist aim. They can be appreciated in the anacronisms and lies of the historical reality. This edition of the chapter is preceded by a brief introductory research. In this study the general context is explained and some notes of the biography of the author are provided. The literary component and its propagandist aim are commented and, finally, the basic approaches of the edition that have been adopted are presented.eng
