Abstract: Our main goal is the study ofthe Iliad's símiles that evoke the chikfs world and the relationships between the mother and her little children. In the article's fírst part, which is dedicated to this subject, we study the following símiles: 1) 2. 289-290, 337-338; 2) 4. 130-131, 8. 271-272, 16. 7-11; 3) 11. 558-565, 15. 360-366, 16. 257-267; 4) 11. 267-272, 12. 432-436. This analysis is completed with a brief scheme of formal and thematic aspects and we can confirm that the poet gives particular importance to the relationships between mother and son and to the children's games. Since the evocation ofthe child's world doesn't limit itself to the símiles, in the second part we will shortly examine the other references to this theme found in the lliad. With this study we intend to put in evidence the poefs realistic look and his deep knowledge of child's behavior, as well as the extraordinary beauty of these símiles, their evoking power and uniqueness.
