In this paper the philosophical background of Aristotle's Poetics is considered. According to the author, there are many principies of Platonism in this treatise. As a matter of f act, Aristotle in the mentioned work broadens and clarifies the Platonic theory on poetics. For instance: one of the most important points of Plato's theory of poetry is the principie that all the parts of a poetic work must look for the Form or Idea of the whole, and this principie is also of crucial importance in Aristotle's Poetics.eng
