dc.description.abstractO conceito de envolvimento dos alunos na escola tem vindo a ser colocado no cerne das discussões relacionadas com o sucesso académico e com o abandono escolar. Este estudo faz uma revisão de literatura acerca deste conceito e das suas relações com o desempenho académico, destacando a sua importância no âmbito da formação de professores. Vários estudos sustentam que a falta de envolvimento dos alunos aparece associada ao baixo desempenho académico, a problemas de comportamento e ao abandono escolar. O envolvimento dos alunos na escola apresenta-se, na literatura revista, como uma resposta eficaz para os problemas que afetam as escolas e os seus alunos, como um aspeto a ter em conta na prevenção de padrões de comportamento problemático em contexto escolar e, portanto, como um conceito transdisciplinar de elevada importância na formação de professores.por
dc.description.abstractLe concept d’engagement des étudiants dans l’école, a été placé au coeur des discussions relatives au succès académique et l’abandon scolaire. Cette étude est une revue de la littérature sur ce concept et sa relation avec la performance académique, soulignant son importance dans le contexte de la formation de professeurs. Nombreuses études affirmant que le manque d’engagement semble associé à une faible performance scolaire, à des problèmes de comportement et d’abandon scolaire. Le engagement des étudiants dans l’école est présenté comme une réponse efficace aux problèmes que touchent les écoles et leurs élèves, et comme un aspect à prendre en considération dans la prévention des comportements problématiques dans les écoles et, donc, comme un concept transdisciplinaire d’une grande importance dans la formation des professeurs.fra
dc.description.abstractThe concept of student’s engagement in school has been the focus of debate concerning academic success and school dropout. This study reviews the literature concerning this concept and its relations with academic performance, emphasizing its importance within the framework of Teacher Training. It can be found a significant number of studies which sustain that the lack of engagement appears related with low academic performance, behavioral problems and school dropout. The literature reviewed presents student’s engagement in school as a potentially effective response to problems affecting schools and their students, and an aspect to be considered when preventing problematic behavior patterns in school settings, and, therefore, a highly important transdisciplinary concept in Teacher Training.eng
