Fugas do Bem

Abstract

Este artigo investiga o Bem platónico para além do Ser, de um ponto de vista levinasiano. Defendo que se o Bem não habita, não se mantém, ou não está no Ser, ele constantemente se subtrai aos aparatos tanto ontológico como epistemológico que o deveriam captar e identificar. Nas suas múltiplas instanciações, a fuga do Bem complica todos os programas éticos, incluindo a injunção para evitar excessos, precipitando assim confusões com as piores injustiças. O seu carácter de fuga, em última análise, isenta-o de exigências definidoras e inflecte-o com uma espécie de vagueza que é, ela mesma, produtora ou geradora de um excesso no âmbito da ontologia.

This paper investigates the Platonic Good beyond Being from a Levinasian point of view. I argue that, if the Good does not dwell, does not abide, or is not in Being, then it constantly flees both the ontological and the epistemological apparatuses intended to capture and identify it. In its multiple instantiations, the flight of the Good complicates all ethical programs, including the injunction to avoid excesses, and, thus, precipitates confusions with the worst injustices. Its fugal character ultimately absolves it from definitional exigencies and inflects it with the kind of vagueness, which is, itself, productive or generative of an excess over the realm of ontology.
