Caracterização de adobes da região do Lubango (Angola)

Abstract

With this study the main features of the units used for adobe production in the Lubango region (Huila, Angola) as well as physical properties of the adobe bricks obtained from these units were analyzed. The study was performed in ten places where adobes are produced. In order to fulfil the intended objectives several tests were done on natural soils (grain‑size analysis and mineralogy) and on adobe bricks (loss of weight and contraction) from the selected areas. The research showed that the studied soils have distinct natural properties that affect the characteristics of the adobe bricks.

Com este trabalho analisaram‑se as principais características das unidades produtoras de adobe na região do Lubango (Huíla, Angola) bem como as propriedades físicas dos tijolos em adobe obtidos a partir destes materiais. O estudo foi realizado sobre dez locais de fabrico de adobe. Para se alcançar os objetivos preconizados foram efetuados ensaios nos solos naturais (granulometria e mineralogia) e nos tijolos em adobe (perda de massa e contração) dos locais selecionados. Os trabalhos mostraram que os solos naturais possuem propriedades distintas que influenciam as características dos tijolos em adobe.
