Abstract: The Greek comic writer Aristophanes (448-380 b. C.?) left us an important contribution in allowing us to know the Athenian society, even if from a specific viewpoint. Concerning his work, out of forty plays about eleven have reached us so far in a complete form. In this paper, we intend to discourse about the representation of rural space in Aristophanic comedy, showing how the author valued, so many times, the khóra in detriment to the ásty.
