Abstract: Rome has always been Cicero’s land of election. He used to believe it was the only possible place where he could feel accomplished as a politician. However, apart from the time dedicated to his studies and his exile, there were two moments when he had to leave the city for more than a year: first, as a questor in Sicily; later, as the governor of Cilicia. The present study revisits these two places through the eyes of Arpinate.
