Abstract: Intergenerational solidarity comprises the connection and exchange between generations. In a time when demographics show an increase in the older population in comparison with its younger counterpart, it seems important that social and economic development should no longer be focused on the dated paradigm of investing only in the education of the youngest generation. Our proposal points to the need for a more integrated approach to generations in order to build policies and programs that promote social and economic development, through a inter/multigenerational perspective. Therefore our proposal is to combine inter- and intra-generationality with social entrepreneurship; in this way, economic development would be not an end but a means to the great goal of achieving more well-being.
