Fichte developed the foundations of transcendental reason according to Kant’s transcendental Idealism. In articles from 1797, the First and the Second Introduction to the ‘Wissenschaftslehre’, Fichte refuted the dogmatic and empiricist perspectives, which were developed based on Kant’s criticism. Both perspectives adopted the primacy of the thing‑in‑itself (Ding‑an‑sich), as though the act of knowledge depended on it. Fichte reformulates this issue, arguing that the foundations of transcendental reason should be placed on the subject. Therefore, the primacy of the subject is the only way to establish the system of transcendental reason.eng
