Anaxágoras em Plutarco e Diógenes Laércio

Abstract

The Life of Pericles is one of the texts in which the Chaeroneus best describes the philosophical education of a biographee. In Per. 4.6, Anaxagoras, the Intelligence, is introduced to us as the foremost teacher of the greatest statesman of Athens. As, centuries later, Diogenes Laertius writes an Anaxagoras’ biography, our goal is to show points of convergence or divergence in the tradition as well as possible influences of Plutarch’s style on Diogenes Laertius.

A Vida de Péricles é um dos textos em que o Queroneu melhor descreve a formação de cariz filosófico de um biografado. Nela, Anaxágoras, a Inteligência (Per. 4.6), é-nos apresentado como o principal mestre do grande estadista de Atenas. Como, séculos mais tarde, Diógenes Laércio consagra a Anaxágoras uma das vidas que escreve sobre os filósofos, é nosso objetivo mostrar pontos de confluência ou de divergência na tradição, bem como eventuais influências do Queroneu no estilo de Diógenes Laércio.
