Abstract: The article deals with the analysis of two icons from Solon’s Life which are included in the latin translation of the Vite parallele published in Venice in 1517 edited by Badio Ascensio, as well as with the translation into the vernacular of Iaconiello from Rieti in 1548. An illustration, which represents the most significant episode of the entire story, it’s related to each biography and accompanied by a latin write. Words and picture are related to the text in a direct and precise way; they express its deep tendencies , motivations that are considered important to understand the personality of the character.
