Heteras, concubinas y jóvenes de seducción: la influencia femenina en las Vidas plutarqueas de Solón, Pericles y Alcibíades

Abstract

This paper analyzes the female figures of hetaira and pallake in Plutarch’s Lives of Solon, Pericles and Alcibiades. The contribution uses legal material for a transversal study of the female influence on Solon, Pericles and Alcibiades, bearing in mind the sociocultural patterns at the time. It also studies the power of seduction and the power of persuasion of these women over the aforementioned leaders. Finally, Plutarch shows a gradual progression in the relationship of the leaders with these women and offers both a moral and a political lesson to the benefit of the Greco‑Roman reader.

El presente trabajo analiza las figuras femeninas de la hetera y la concubina en las Vidas de Solón, Pericles y Alcibíades. El estudio se asienta sobre bases jurídicas para explicar, de manera transversal, la influencia femenina en Solón, Pericles y Alcibíades según los patrones socioculturales vigentes. Es objeto de este estudio también el poder de seducción y de persuasión de estas mujeres en los mandatarios citados. Finalmente, Plutarco exhibe una progresión gradual en la relación de los estadistas con estas mujeres y ofrece una enseñanza tanto moral como política para beneficio del lector grecorromano.
