Plutarco y la crisis oracular del final del mundo antiguo

Abstract

Plutarch testifies to the crisis of prophetic activity between the late first century and the beginning of the second. The prophetic texts collected by Plutarch show the disbelief towards them and, on the other hand, the conversion of the traditional Greek oracles in new theological practices. Thus Plutarch will be used by the Fathers of the Church to criticize pagan prophetic activity.

Plutarco da testimonio de la crisis de la actividad profética de finales del siglo I y principios del II. Los textos proféticos recogidos por Plutarco muestran por una parte la incredulidad hacia ellos y por otra la conversión de los oráculos tradicionales griegos en nuevas prácticas teológicas. Por ello Plutarco será utilizado por los Padres de la Iglesia para criticar la actividad profética pagana.
