A hipótese de uma televisão revolucionária

Abstract

A 25 de Abril de 197 4, o golpe militar que mudou o curso da história do pais, transformou também a RTP. Constituindo-se como o órgão central do sistema de comunicação social português, pretendia-se que a televisão se apresentasse como expressão da liberdade conquistada em Abril. Surgem então novos programas, e uma nova programação altera profundamente o quotidiano televisivo, fazendo desse período (1974-1975) um tempo televisivo excepcional na história da TV em Portugal. Durante o período revolucionário, a RTP foi um importante campo de batalha onde se esgrimiam as várias facções, as quais tinham diferentes entendimentos do que era uma televisão revolucionária.

Le 25 avril 1974, le coup militaire qui a changé le cours de l'histoire du pays, a aussi transformé la RTP. En le constituant comme l'organe central du système de communication sociale portugais, on souhaitait que la télévision se présente comme expression de la liberté conquise en avril. Surgissent alors de nouveaux programmes, et une nouvelle programmation modifie profondément le quotidien télévisuel, faisant de cette période (1974-1975) un temps télévisuel exceptionnel dans l'histoire de la Télé au Portugal. Durant la période révolutionnaire, la RTP fût un important camp de bataille où s'affrontaient les différentes factions, qui avaient un entendement différent de ce qu'était une télévision révolutionnaire.

On April 25th, 1974 the military coup which changed the course of the history of our country also changed RTP (Portuguese public television). As the central body of Portuguese mass media, television was envisaged as the expression of the freedom conquered in April. New programmes developed then, and a new television programming changed television profoundly; this was an exceptional period (1974-1975) in the history of Portuguese television. During the revolutionary period, RTP provided the battle ground between the different political factions, which had distinct views of what a revolutionary television was.
