Abstract

This chapter approaches the figure of the parthénos in the process of being moved from one oîkos to another, as it appears in Hesiod’s Works and Days. We can observe in this text the root of the inextricable link between femininity and danger, and trace its connections back to other issues, such as the ideology of the peasant group to which the author belonged, and the changes in the domestic domain that take place during the Archaic period.

Este capítulo aborda en Trabajos y Días de Hesíodo la figura de la parthénos en el proceso de traspaso de oîkos. Observamos en esta obra el germen de la asociación entre lo femenino y lo peligroso, y rastreamos sus conexiones con otros aspectos, como la ideología del colectivo campesino al que pertenecía el autor, y los cambios en el espacio doméstico que se producen durante el Arcaísmo.
