Vidas exemplares após o Estado Novo: a biografia na historiografia em Portugal depois de 1974

Abstract

A historiografia portuguesa tem dedicado grande parte de seus esforços para a compreensão das particularidades da sociedade e da cultura lusitanas a partir dos desafios apresentados pelas transformações políticas e institucionais do país no século XX, a produção bibliográfica do gênero biográfico pode se afirmar como um campo de pesquisa original para a percepção crítica das forças sociais e culturais, múltiplas e complexas, que se fizeram ou se fazem presentes nas disputas de memórias, estabelecendo um mapeamento de algumas questões que essa tradição historiográfica suscita entre diferentes profissionais e orientações teóricas após o Estado Novo.

L’historiographie portugaise a dédié une grande partie de ses efforts à la compréhension des particularités de la société et de la culture lusitaines à partir des défis présentés par les transformations politiques et institutionnelles du pays au XXe siècle. La production bibliographique du genre biographique peut s’affirmer comme un domaine de recherche original pour la perception critique des forces sociales et culturelles, multiples et complexes, qui interviennent dans les disputes de mémoires, en établissant un mappage de questions que cette tradition historiographique suscite chez différents professionnels et orientations théoriques après l’État Nouveau.

The portuguese historiography has devoted much of his efforts to understand the peculiarities of the society and culture from the challenges posed by political and institutional transformations of the country in the twentieth century, the production of the biographic genre can be stated as a field of original research on the perceptions of the social and cultural changes, multiple and complex, which were made or if disputes are present in memory, establishing a mapping of some issues that this historiographical tradition raises among different professional and theoretical orientations after the “Estado Novo”.
