The A. analyses the context in which, within capitalism, the welfare state arose in the framework of several compromise solutions used to save capitalism, without resorting to Nazi-fascist solutions. He focuses on the development of the economic grounds of Keynesian-type welfare State and explains the circumstances of the victory, from the early 1970s, of the monetary counter-revolution, which contaminated the socialist and social-democratic parties in Europe and left a permanent mark in the European integration, ending with the replacement of the Keynesian consensus by the so-called Washington consensus. By characterising the ultimate mask of the capitalist State (the guarantor State or the guarantee State) the A. highlights the totalitarian essence of neo- -liberalism, which intends to annihilate the welfare State (falsely accused of financial impracticability), and in turn open the doors to charity, deemed the most desirable of all means of relieving poverty. In brief, he highlights the dangers for democracy arising from “market fascism” in our World lead by speculative financial capital (the “aids of the World economy”, the systemic crime).eng
