Sólon e as normas sobre prostituição e instituição de bordéis em Atenas

Abstract

Este artigo analisa algumas normas de Sólon relativas à situação da mulher, em particular as leis respeitantes ao adultério (moicheia), à prostituição forçada de mulheres livres e à prostituição voluntária. Discute ainda a tradição (falsa) de Sólon ter tomado a iniciativa de instituir bordéis oficiais em Atenas.

This article analyses some Solonian rules respecting the status of women, particularly the laws on adultery (moicheia), on forced prostitution of free women and on voluntary prostitution. It also discusses the (false) tradition according to which Solon took the initiative of establishing official brothels in Athens.
