The female chorus in the Andromache places itself between two women, both victims, but in different ways, of the war: Andromache and Hermione. The relationship that binds this group of Phthian women to the heroines contributes to their characterization and enable a complete comprehension of the play. The chorus’s centrality is relevant and emphasize the appreciation of the play as a choral tragedy. |
