Penthesiléa, de Hélia Correia: notas de leitura

Abstract

No seu pequeno volume Apodera-te de mim, Hélia Correia reúne, entre outros textos de inspiração clássica, um que intitula Penthesiléa. Na forma como regressa ao velho mito da Amazona, a Autora portuguesa interroga-se sobre a razão por que o célebre episódio da paixão que, na hora da morte, Pentesileia desencadeia em Aquiles, teve tratamentos relativamente escassos. Talvez fosse difícil encontrar palavras para sentimento tão extremo como o da necrofilia.

In her small volume Take me, Hélia Correia produces, among other short texts inspired by classical motives, a text entitled Penthesiléa. In the way she uses to retell the myth of the Amazon, the Portuguese author questions why this famous episode about the passion that, in her last hour, Penthesilea produces in Achilles had so few versions. Maybe it was difficult to find words for such an extreme sentiment as necrophilia.
