caracterizar sumariamente a banca regional
The present article seeks to briefly characterise the regional banking sector of the Madeira Islands, throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, by emphasizing how different types of institutions were created and evolved. The events that led to their terminus will also be highlighted, by examining the foreclosures, mergers or consolidation processes with other regional or national institutions. The behaviour of the Funchal square in periods of crisis will also be examined, specifically as it impacted the banking situation in the early 1930s. |
