A múltipla etimologização implícita nas Metamorphoses de Ovídio

Abstract

This paper examines the multiple implicit etymologizing of a very same word in Ovid’s Metamorphoses, and the relationship between ancient and modern etymologizing, by not only identifying the differences of goals and technics between them, but by also suggesting a possibility of compatibility between them.

Este artigo versa sobre a múltipla etimologização implícita de uma mesma palavra nas Metamorphoses, de Ovídio, e a relação entre a etimologização antiga e a moderna, não só reconhecendo as diferenças de objetivos e de técnicas entre elas, mas também vislumbrando uma compatibilidade entre elas.
