As redes do conhecimento científico da Universidade de Coimbra: uma análise aos projetos investigação científica e desenvolvimento tecnológico (IC&DT) financiados pela Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT)

Abstract

The research analyzed the projects funded by FCT under the open competitions in order to understand the evolution of knowledge and R&D networks of the University of Coimbra, trying to identify the multiple spatial scales in which they operate, their disciplinary dimensions and evaluate the their impact on the territory. Starting from the database for the years 2000 and 2010 and using the methodology of analysis of social networks (template Node XL - Microsoft Excel), it intends to analyze the networks of knowledge and R&D of Coimbra, considering the different scientific areas, applicants and participants and their respective institutions scientific fields, investments and human resources involved. The analysis is complemented by an understanding of the different spatial dynamics - local, regional, national and international, where there are scientific collaboration relations. The spatial representation of institutional relations was made through the ArcMap (ArcGIS 10.2), having been used the tool ”spider tools” and a matrix origin-destination.

A presente investigação privilegiou a análise de todos os projetos financiados pela FCT no âmbito dos concursos gerais, com o objetivo de compreender a evolução das redes de conhecimento e I&D da Universidade de Coimbra, tentando identificar as múltiplas escalas territoriais em que operam, as suas dimensões transdisciplinares e avaliar o seu impacto no território. Partindo da construção de uma base de dados para o período de 2000 e 2010 e recorrendo à metodologia de análise de redes sociais (template Node XL - Microsoft Excel), pretende-se analisar as redes de conhecimento e I&D de Coimbra, considerando as diferentes áreas científicas, as instituições proponentes e participantes e respetivos domínios científicos, os investimentos e os recursos humanos envolvidos. A análise é complementada com a compreensão das diferentes dinâmicas espaciais - local, regional, nacional e internacional, em que se verificam relações de colaboração científica. A representação espacial das relações institucionais fez-se através do ArcMap (ArcGis 10.2), tendo sido utilizada a ferramenta spider tools, a partir da construção de uma matriz origem-destino.
