Relações de interface, redes e cidades médias: o caso de Presidente Prudente, Brasil

Abstract

The analysis and interpretation of the interface’s relationships, in other words, those relationships that are electronically mediated, presuppose the consideration of the places in which exists the technic structure to the telecommunication system. In this sense, firstly we address the universal or general aspects related to the interface’s relationship, to observe then it’s particularities in a medium city, in the case, Presidente Prudente, São Paulo State, Brazil. The correlation between its urban centralities and the concentration of the technic structure to the telecommunication systems is highlighted. A series of in loco studies in the central areas destined to nocturne leisure activities in the city of Presidente Prudente was conducted to verify the interface’s relationship, which may influence in the daily dynamics of the townspeople in their singular characteristics, focusing the study of how the social networks can reinforce the urban centralities. To sum up, we focused our efforts on the understanding and interpretation of the reciprocal influence between the interface’s relationships and those face to face and their ways of objectification in a medium‑sized city.

A análise e a interpretação das relações de interface, ou seja, aquelas relações que são mediadas eletronicamente, pressupõe considerarmos os locais em que há o aporte técnico dos sistemas de telecomunicações. Nesse sentido, abordamos os aspectos universais ou gerais acerca das relações de interface para em seguida nos determos as particularidades de uma cidade média, no caso, Presidente Prudente, Estado de São Paulo, Brasil. Destaca‑se a correlação entre as suas centralidades urbanas e a concentração do aporte técnico das redes de telecomunicações. Realizamos uma série de estudos in loco nas áreas centrais destinadas as atividades de lazer noturno na cidade de Presidente Prudente para aferir como as relações de interface podem influenciar nas dinâmicas cotidianas dos citadinos em suas características singulares, privilegiando o estudo de como as redes sociais podem reforçar as centralidades urbanas. Em suma, focamos nossos esforços para o entendimento e a interpretação acerca da recíproca influência entre as relações de interface e aquelas face a face e seus respectivos modos de objetivação numa cidade média.
