Estudiantes universitarias en Salamanca entre 1940 y 1970

Abstract

Abundante bibliografia tratou de tornar visível a discriminação que sofreram as mulheres espanholas no âmbito educativo ao longo da ditadura do general Franco. A referida diferenciação foi especialmente relevante no ensino superior, onde parecia que as mulheres esbarravam com um “tecto de vidro” bastante baixo. Menos abundantes do que as obras de carácter geral são os trabalhos que pormenorizam de forma específica a situação da mulher na Universidade espanhola. Não obstante, estes estudos à escala nacional contrastam com a inexistência dos mesmos a nível local, especialmente para o caso salmantino em que vamos centrar a nossa análise. Este artigo trata de atenuar essa lacuna. Por outro lado, o estudo de caso permitir-nos-á comprovar se a realidade descoberta confirma ou desmente as hipóteses interpretativas e os estudos anteriores realizados à escala nacional.

Abundant literature has tried to demonstrate the discrimination that the Spanish women suffered in the educational area during the dictatorship of the general Franco. The above mentioned discrimination was especially relevant in the higher education, where it seemed that women came up against a right low “ceiling of crystal”. Less prolific than general works are the pieces of work that specifically detail the situation of women in the Spanish university. Nevertheless, the abundance of these national scale studies contrast with their absence on a local scale, especially for the case of Salamanca, the goal of our analysis. This article tries to mitigate this gap. On the other hand, the study of the case will allow us to confirm or refute the interpretive hypotheses and the previous studies carried out on a national scale.
