La cultura histórica sobre el «año mil» en sus diferentes historiografías

Abstract

El «año mil» es un tema de investigación importante en la Edad Media, sobre todo en la historiografía francesa. Su interés está vinculado a los llamados terrores del «año mil» y sobre su posible existencia. Además, el «año mil» forma parte de lo que algunos historiadores marxistas han denominado como la «revolución feudal». En este artículo se reflexiona sobre la cultura histórica en relación al año mil. Para ello, se estudiará cómo ha evolucionado la escritura sobre el «año mil» a lo largo del tiempo. Con esta premisa, comenzaremos por dotar de significado a lo que se denominará como «año mil». Después describiremos y analizaremos cómo las interpretaciones sobre el «año mil» han ido cambiando y transformándose a lo largo de la historia hasta la actualidad. Por último, haremos conclusiones de contenido e historiográficas con el fin de demostrar que el «año mil» ha sido un tema que ha cambiado en relación con la historia del momento y con la evolución historiográfica.

The «year 1000» is an important topic of research in the Middle Ages, especially in French historiography. Its interest lies in the connection with the so-called terrors of «the year 1000» and their possible existence. Furthermore, «the year 1000» is part of what some Marxist historians have labelled the «Feudal Revolution». This paper reflects on the historical culture regarding the year 1000. To this end, attention will be paid to the manner in which the writing on «the year 1000» has evolved through time. With this in mind, we will begin by giving meaning to what will come to be known as «the year 1000». Subsequently, we will describe and analyse how the interpretations of «the year 1000» have gradually changed and evolved throughout history up to the present time. Lastly, conclusions will be reached regarding both content and historiography in order to demonstrate that «the year 1000» has been a topic that has changed alongside the history of the time and the historiographic evolution.
