dc.description.abstract | This paper is methodologically guided by the detailed analysis of the very lexicon that characters use to define themselves. It offers a study of the those in Seneca’s Phaedra, paying special attention to Hippolytus. I provide an account of Seneca’s singular handling of this character’s affectivity, and I expose its singularity vis-a-vis the original Greek figures and the evolution that took place after Seneca’s himself. | eng |
