O topos do Voyeurismo no teatro clássico e nos mitos gregos e do próximo oriente

Abstract

Through the myths from Greece and Near Eastern cultures, rich in examples of punished voyeurs, which have seen what they weren’t supposed to see, we intend to illustrate the subject of voyeurism in Antiquity. We’ll explore the voyeurist tendencies of a series of important characters of Antiquity, never without a punishment, expressing such a modern will: the domain of the intimacy of the other.

Através dos mitos gregos e dos do próximo Oriente, fonte fértil de exemplos de voyeurs castigados pela ousadia de ver o que lhes é, por princípio, vedado, pretende-se ilustrar a temática do voyeurismo na Antiguidade Clássica. Exploraremos o pendor voyeurista de uma série de personagens estruturantes do imaginário da Antiguidade, nunca sem castigo, expressando uma ânsia tão actual: o domínio da intimidade do outro, medindo-se com entidades ou realidades que transcendem o indivíduo.
