Abstract

Analysis of A Lagarada (1929), a play traditionally defined as a rural Dionysian tragedy, in order to review the presence and function of features of classical drama (focusing in particular on the allusions in the play to Euripides’s The Bacchae) and their juxtaposition and interplay with other mythical and symbolic elements of the work.

Análise da obra A Lagarada (1929), tradicionalmente definida como uma tragédia rural de fundo dionisíaco, com o intuito de revisar a função dos elementos clássicos que nela aparecem (em especial, as referências às Bacantes de Eurípides) e a relação com outros elementos míticos e simbólicos.
