dc.description.abstractIn 1948 Omar del Carlo wrote his Electra at Dawn in Buenos Aires. The author sets Dawn as a temporal space that acts as a mandatory feature of the dramatic action as well as a mark of a cyclical time -Dawn after Dawn- without hope for Electra. In fact, Omar del Carlo partly considered Orestes to be the true tragic victim of the facts that eventually made him become a martyr within a Christian atmosphere. Electra, a victim without redemption, keeps her eternal hatred and wrath forever. It is evident that the Argentine author had in mind Sophocles’ Electra, although in the Greek author Electra finds the final satisfaction to a hatred that seemed to be eternal. In Omar del Carlo`s work, Electra suffers the punishment of the unforgiving, for the rest of her life.eng
dc.description.abstractOmar del Carlo escribió su obra Electra al amanecer en el Buenos Aires de 1948. El autor configura un espacio temporal, un amanecer, que actúa como rasgo de la preceptiva de la acción dramática y además es una marca de un tiempo cíclico -amanecer tras amanecer-, sin esperanza para Electra. Omar del Carlo en realidad considera, en parte, como verdadera víctima trágica de los hechos a Orestes al que convierte en un mártir dentro de una atmósfera cristiana. Electra, víctima sin redención, se queda con su eterno odio y rencor perpetuo. Está claro que el autor argentino tenía como referente la historia de Electra expuesta por Sófocles, con la diferencia fundamental de que en el autor griego Electra halla satisfacción final a su odio, que parecía eterno; en la obra de Omar del Carlo Electra sufre el castigo de los que no perdonan, cuya duración abarca el resto de su vida.por
