Fabrica, del médico Andrés Vesalio (1514-1564) constituye uno de los grandes
hitos en la Historia de la Ciencia, pero también de la Historia del Arte. No sólo
por volver a considerar la práctica de la Anatomía como el estudio directo de la
Naturaleza y el verdadero motor del avance de la Medicina, sino por adoptar
un talante conciliador y humanista que persigue convertir el libro en objeto de
reflexión y herramienta de conocimiento para médicos, pintores y escultores.
El presente trabajo explica y valora la sugestiva iconografía anatómica de Vesalio,
sus insólitos rasgos configurantes, el eco entre sus continuadores, así como su
proyección en el arte de los siglos XVI, XVII y XVIII, sin olvidar su repercusión
en la cultura visual y de masas de nuestro tiempo. In 1543 was published first edition of De Humani Corporis Fabrica by the physician Andreas Vesalius (1514-1564). This fact constitutes one of the biggest milestones in the History of Science and also in Art History. Vesalius not only reinstated anatomical practice and the direct study of Nature such a true motor of medical advance. He also converted his book in an implement of reflection and knowledge for physicians, painters and sculptors with conciliating and humanist attitude. The proposal of this article is to expound and value Vesalius' anatomical iconography, its unaccustomed distinctive traits, its projection into his followers' work and its presence and repercussion into XVI, XVII and XVIII Art joined to into Visual Culture and mass-media of today. |
