Los habitantes de la Luna (Plu., De Fac. 944C-945B): notas críticas sobre las propuestas textuales y traducciones del XVI

Abstract

The text I will comment here, concerning the daemons that inhabit the moon, is of difficult interpretation and ancient and modern translators and commentators have found problems to understand it. In this analysis, only of textual orientation, I will consider how the 16th Century humanists and translators faced these problems and how their input has contributed to the setting of the text. Moreover, as a result of my comment, I restore some readings of the manuscripts and I make new critical proposals in relation to the discussed passages.

El texto que comento aquí, concerniente a los démones que habitan la luna, es de difícil interpretación y los traductores e intérpretes antiguos y modernos han tenido sus problemas para entenderlo. En mi análisis, exclusivamente textual, estudiaré la forma en que los humanistas y traductores del XVI afrontaron esos problemas y de qué modo su aportación ha contribuido a la constitución del texto. Por otra parte, como resultado de este comentario, restituyo algunas lecturas de los manuscritos y hago nuevas propuestas en relación los pasajes discutidos.
