Etiqueta e redes académicas nas cortes setecentistas de Portugal e Espanha

Abstract

Em Lisboa como em Madrid, as reuniões públicas da Academia Real da Historia Portuguesa e da Real Academia de la Historia instauram, através da etiqueta protocolar, os signos do seu próprio reconhecimento bem como dos seus eruditos, ao mesmo tempo que glorificam o rei. É justamente sobre o cerimonial ou etiqueta protocolar das reuniões públicas da Academia Real da História, fundada por D. João V em 1720, e da Real Academia de la Historia, elevada a esse título por D. Filipe V em 1738, que o presente artigo se debruça, não descurando também a mediação textual destas cerimónias para um público mais alargado.

In Lisbon as in Madrid, the public meetings of the Academia Real da Historia Portuguesa and the Real Academia de la Historia institute through the etiquette of protocol the signs of their own acknowledgement as well as that of their scholars, whilst glorifying the king. The present article focuses precisely on the ceremonial or etiquette of protocol of the public meetings of the Academia Real de História, founded by King João V in 1720, and the Real Academia de la Historia, granted that title by King Filipe V in 1738, as well as on the textual mediation of such ceremonies for an extended audience.
