Title: | A ideia federal no republicanismo português (1910-1926) | Other Titles: | The federal ideia in Portuguese republicanism (1910-1926) | Authors: | Leal, Ernesto Castro | Issue Date: | 2006 | Publisher: | Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra | Abstract: | (1910-1926)
Tomaram parte nesse processo vários publicistas republicanos e grupos
dinâmica do ideário descentralista, municipalista e regionalista português. This is an analysis of the emergence, from the time of Portugal's October 1910 revolution to that of the May 1926 revolution, of federalist proposals influenced by European and American political ideals. Republican spokesmen, together with political groups of a radical, socialist, communist, and anarchist bent, took part in this process. Defining the meaning of "federal" was a major concern of a number of projects concerning what the Portuguese Republic should be like. In short, a multivoiced current criticizing any departure from centralist republican power made itself felt, alongside a considerable affirmation of Portuguese descentralist, municipalist and regionalist ideals. |
