Arqueologia da transição: entre o mundo romano e a Idade Média

Abstract

The aim of the present volume is to discuss one historical moment that is still insufficiently known: Late Antiquity. For this, specialists present their research in some specific subjects: settlement patterns and sites architecture; material culture; the arrival of Christianity; funerary data. All the Iberian peninsula is concerned, searching for parallels with the Mediterranean basin.

O propósito do presente volume centra-se no debate sobre um período histórico ainda pouco conhecido: a Antiguidade Tardia. Para tal, especialistas em diferentes temas apresentam resultados de investigação sobre algumas área sectoriais: os padrões de povoamento e a arquitectura dos lugares de habitação; a cultura material; a chegada do Cristianismo; e o mundo funerário. Os contributos abarcam o território peninsular, procurando ainda paralelos e leituras com o espaço do Mediterrâneo.
