Abstract: Na pátera do Museo Nacional de Arte Romano (Mérida) consagrada a Bandis Araugelensis, a figura feminina representada tem sido considerada como a do próprio deus indígena.
On the silver patera of the Museo Nacional de Arte Romano (Mérida) dedicated to Bandis Araugelensis, the female figure with a towered crown has been considered as the representation of that native god. However, by his surnames, Bandis is a god, not a goddess. It is here suggested that the female figure of the patera corresponds not to the god, but to the locality of Araocelum, allegorically represented as a female figure sacrificing to the god.
