dc.description.abstract | This essay ponders on the dichotomy “facticity versus factitiousness” on a sequence of Thom Gunn’s 1966 ekphrastic poems Positives, a book that develops a dialogue with his brother Ander Gunn’s black and white pictures. Anchored in those concepts – facticity and factitiousness – the essay deals with the social dimension of photography and Thom Gunn’s capacity to develop subjective insights that somehow expand the visual report of a time that only remains in the photographer’s eye. | eng |
