Contextos e formas da violência escolar

Abstract

O autor começa por explicitar o conceito de violência escolar e por estabelecer a sua relação com outros conceitos próximos (indisciplina, comportamento anti-social, delinquência juvenil), dando ao mesmo tempo conta de algumas linhas de investigação que em Portugal se têm desenvolvido nesta área. Seguidamente caracteriza o que considera os três grandes contextos da violência escolar (a violência da escola, a violência na escola e a violência contra a escola), e termina tipificando algumas formas ou expressões da violência “na” escola, registando o que a investigação tem apontado como os principais factores do fenómeno, e alguns dados sobre a sua prevalência no nosso país.

The author first approaches the concept of school violence and connects it with other closely related concepts (indiscipline, antisocial behaviour, juvenile delinquency), giving an accounting of some of the research lines in these area in Portugal. Then the text characterizes the three main contexts of school violence, namely the violence of the school, the violence in the school and the violence against the school. Finally some forms and expressions of violence “in the” school are typified and, according to research, the main factors of this phenomenon are pointed out as well as some data on its prevalence in our country.
