O mito como instrumento de aprendizado ético

Abstract

The text is a posture that points out some flaws illustrated rationality, especially with regard to its intention to give an account of reality as a whole, and presents another type of rationality: the one present in the mythical narratives. The defense of the relevance of this type of rationality will follow in this work, a path that from Giambattista Vico and Romanticism will tangent Gadamer and, specifically, be based on the thought of the French philosopher Paul Ricoeur. This, through the myth, access to practical issues of human daily life, dealing not only with accuracy but also with the feelings, the suffering and the hopeful desire for a happy life. Having established its philosophical basis, the text then goes to a presentation and analysis of the pedagogical validity of the mythin the work ‘Philoctetes ‘ of Sophocles.

O texto trata de uma postura que aponta algumas falhas da racionalidade ilustrada, mormente no que diz respeito à sua tentativa de dar conta da realidade como um todo, e apresenta um outro tipo de racionalidade: aquela presente nas narrativas míticas. A defesa da pertinência desse tipo de racionalidade obedecerá, neste trabalho, um trajeto, que a partir de Giambattista Vico e do Romantismo irá tangenciar Gadamer e, especificamente, fundamentar-se no pensamento do filósofo francês Paul Ricoeur. Este, por intermédio do mito, descortinou o acesso às questões práticas do cotidiano humano, que lida não somente com a exatidão, mas também com os sentimentos, com o sofrimento e com o desejo esperançoso de uma vida feliz. Tendo sua base filosófica estabelecida, o texto avança em seguida para uma apresentação e análise da validade pedagógica do mito na obra ‘Filoctetes’, de Sófocles.
