Das muitas margaridas: A construção de um feminismo rural no estado da Paraíba, Brasil

Abstract

Esse artigo resulta de pesquisas sobre a história do movimento feminista na Paraíba e militância no movimento de mulheres do mesmo estado. Partimos da premissa de que as mulheres têm feito uma verdadeira revolução nos campos, nos núcleos familiares e na própria organização do feminismo enquanto movimento. A metodologia utilizada foi do tipo qualitativa com contributos bibliográficos e de campo e as categorias empíricas foram elencadas a partir de duas fontes: entrevistas e observações in loco. A sistematização das entrevistas está pautada no método da história oral, enquanto técnica e aporte da Nova História Cultural, com análise descritiva dos dados. Discutimos como se constitui o movimento recente de mulheres do Polo da Borborema, afirmando que existe um feminismo rural no estado que tem raízes históricas em movimentos sociais de base e no sindicalismo campesino, latentes nas últimas décadas do século xx.

This article is based on research on the history of the feminist movement in the state of Paraíba and the militancy that occurred during it. The article starts off stating that women have truly revolutionized work in the fields, our understanding of family and the organization of feminism as a movement. Qualitative research was done to gather material for this article, along with conducting interviews and on-site observations. The interviews were conducted using the oral history methodology and the material was later carefully analyzed, with input from the New Cultural History. The article discusses how the recent Polo da Borborema women’s movement is related to the existence of rural feminism in the state and its history of social movements and peasant syndicalism, latent during the last decades of the 20th century.
