Agricultura, estado corporativo e coordenação económica na génese do salazarismo: a Junta Nacional das Frutas, 1931‑1939

Abstract

Este artigo centra‑ se na temática da coordenação económica corporativa no contexto do Estado Novo. O nosso objetivo é compreender o contexto histórico e político que moldou a doutrina corporativa e as problemáticas suscitadas por esta questão serão vistas a partir de uma instituição específica – a Junta Nacional das Frutas. Neste sentido, estudaremos os efeitos do corporativismo na política agrária do fascismo português no seu início e as lógicas subjacentes à aplicação desses princípios em Portugal.

This article focuses on the issue of corporative economic coordination in the context of Estado Novo’s regime. Our scope is to understand the historical and political context that shaped the corporative doctrine and the problematics of this issue will be carried out through the analysis of a specific institution – the Junta Nacional das Frutas (National Board of Fruits). This way, we study the effects of corporatism in the agrarian politics of the Portuguese fascism in his beginning and the logic behind the application of these principals in Portugal.
