Abstract: Since the birth of the Modern State Christianity, has been looking for a Christian Policy. At what cost, between a distance from the political and the will to keep a theological globality on the world, mostly by the catholic church? The historical moments will call to mind here these ideological practises. 1. Europe from Trento Council till the end of the Ancien Régime. Bossuet has defined for its needs, a policy of the sacredness of power. 2. The French Revolution breaks this sacredness by introducing the secularization of social institutions. 3. Restoration Catholics re-build Bossuet’s Christian politics. Lamennais corrects it by adding to it the social problem. But is the theological mentality of Ancien Régime’s church changed in favour of a secularization present everywhere in social customs?
