Abstract

The analysis of an account book of a rural Brotherhood, including other management notes, allows an insight into, the economic life of this sort of community: source of income, means of survival, management skill, resources handling. The social structure is reflected, reproduced and strengthened in the community. On the other hand, acting as one of the few working of rural life it kept together and alive, vertical factors of unity and solidarity. However this wouldn’t avoid the erupting of struggles with other power structures or within the community itself.
