Abstract: When inventorying the «Fundo Monástico Conventual» (ancient records from the Monasteries and Convents) which exists in the «Arquivo Distrital de Braga» (A.D.B. for shorts, the Archives of the District of Braga) we found a bundle of thirteen ‘maps’ containing the number, names, adress and political comments by the «Religiosos dos Conventos e Mosteiros do Distrito de Viana do Castelo» (Religious of the Convents and Monasteries of the District of Viana do Castelo). These findings set us going into the analysis of the country’s overall «miguelista» support and led us to advance a proposal on the social typology of the support of «miguelista».
