dc.description.abstractO presente estudo teve por objectivo caracterizar o desempenho dos alunos no Ensino Superior Politécnico em função da Classificação do Ensino Secundário (CES) e da Nota de Candidatura (NC). Recorremos a um design do tipo ex-post-facto centrado sobre uma amostra de 1596 alunos. Os resultados permitem-nos concluir que os desempenhos dos alunos no Ensino Superior, tomados a partir da Média de Curso e da Percentagem de Disciplinas Aprovadas, se revelam extremamente contrastados, com p<.001 quando comparamos os grupos constituídos a partir dos percentis 25, 50, 75, 90 e 95 da Classificação no Ensino Secundário e da Nota de Candidatura. A análise discriminante aplicada aos 2 grupos constituídos a partir do percentil 50 da NC evidencia uma capacidade apreciável para classificar correctamente (70%) os sujeitos em função do Desempenho no Ensino Superior (MC e PDA em simultâneo).por
dc.description.abstractCette étude a pour objectif de caractériser la performance des étudiants de l’Enseignement Supérieur Polytechnique en fonction de la Classification de l’Enseignement Secondaire (CES) et la Note de Candidature (NC). Nous avons en recours à un design du type ex-post facto centré sur un échantillon de 1596 étudiants. Les résultats nous permettent de conclure que les performances des étudiants dans l’Enseignement Supérieur, obtenus à partir de la moyenne du cours et du pourcentage de disciplines approuvées, se révèlent extrêmement contrastés, avec p=<.001, quand nous comparons les groups à partir des percentiles 25, 50, 77, 90 et 95 de la Classification de l’Enseignement Secondaire et de la Note de Candidature. L’analyse discriminante appliquée aux 2 groupes constitués à partir du percentil 50 de NC montre à l’évidence une capacité appréciable pour classifier correctement (70%) des sujets en fonction de la performance dans l’Enseignement Supérieur (MC et PDA en simultané).fra
dc.description.abstractThe aim of the present study was to characterise the performance of students attending Higher Education Polytechnic Institutes, as compared to the grades (grade levels) they obtained at the term of their Secondary School studies (Secondary School Grades -SSG) and the entrance/enrolment mark (EM) to Polytechnics. We used a design of the type ex-post-fact applied to a sample of 1596 students. The results observed enable us to conclude that the performance of students within Polytechnics, their yearly means (MC) and Percentage of Subjects Successfully Accomplished (PDA) are shown to be highly contrasted, with p=<.001 when compared to groups which were made up, based on percentis 25,50,75,90 and 95 as far as Secondary School Grades (CES) and Entrance Mark (NC) are concerned. The discriminant analysis applied to the two groups formed, whose percentil was 50, as based on their Entrance Mark (NC), shows a considerable capacity to classify subjects correctly (70%) bearing on their performance as Higher Education students (Yearly/Course Mean (MC), together with the subjects’ Percentage of Subjects Successfully Accomplished (PDA).eng
