O pertencimento: para uma ontologia geográfica

Abstract

Por mais que seja um tema central da fenomenologia, a questão do corpo não foi tratada, até agora, de uma maneira satisfatória. A dificuldade vem do fato de que o corpo é uma resposta muito mais do que uma pergunta, resposta a um problema que nunca foi colocado e cujo tratamento é a única maneira de acceder ao sentido de ser desse corpo. Este problema é o do pertencimento. O que pode significar, de uma maneira mínima e com todo o rigor, ter (ou ser) um corpo senão pertencer ao mundo? O pertencimento define o modo de ser originário do corpo. Portanto, é preciso inverter os termos do problema e parar de julgar como sendo óbvio o fato de que pertenço ao mundo porque tenho um corpo. Na realidade, não é por termos um corpo que pertencemos ao mundo mas, pelo contrário, é na medida em que pertencemos ao mundo que temos um corpo. Trata‑se aqui de tentar aprofundar o sentido desse pertencimento e desenvolver algumas consequências desse novo ponto de partida.

Elle a beau être un thème central de la phénoménologie, la question du corps n’a pas été traitée, jusqu’à maintenant, d’une manière satisfaisante. La difficulté vient du fait que le corps est une réponse beaucoup plus qu’une question, réponse à un problème qui n’a jamais été posé et dont le traitement est la seule manière d’accéder au sens d’être de ce corps. Ce problème est celui de l’appartenance. Que peut signifier, de manière minimale et en toute rigueur, avoir (ou être) un corps sinon appartenir au monde ? L’appartenance définit le mode d’être originaire du corps. Il faut donc inverser les termes du problème et cesser de considérer comme évident le fait que j’appartiens au monde parce que j’ai un corps. En réalité, ce n’est pas parce que nous avons un corps que nous appartenons au monde mais, au contraire, c’est dans la mesure où nous appartenons au monde que nous avons un corps. Il s’agit ici de tenter d’approfondir le sens de cette appartenance et de développer quelques conséquences de ce nouveau point de départ.

As much as it is a central theme of phenomenology, the question of the body has not been treated so far satisfactorily. The difficulty comes from the fact that the body is a response much more than a question, answer to a problem that has never been posed and whose treatment is the only way to access the sense of being of that body. This problem is that of belonging. What can it mean, in a minimal and rigorous way, to have (or be) a body but to belong to the world? Belonging defines the way of being from the body. Therefore, it is necessary to reverse the terms of the problem and stop judging as being obvious the fact that I belong to the world because I have a body. In reality, it is not because we have a body that we belong to the world but, on the contrary, it is insofar as we belong to the world that we have a body. It is a question of trying to deepen the sense of belonging and to develop some consequences of this new starting point.
